Oppenheimer Companies

Interstate Food Processing Corporation was established in 1981 to become the food processing subsidiary of Oppenheimer Companies, Inc. Interstate's mission is to produce high quality, value added food products for OCI's established national base of retail and food service customers.

Initially, IFPC produced frozen potatoes and vegetables, and later created and pioneered a unique, proprietary line of refrigerated potato products for the foodservice industry. These successful businesses attracted profitable offers from various buyers, and were sold in the mid -1990's.

Most recently, Interstate Food Processing Corporation joined forces with Lakeside Foods, a well respected Wisconsin processor of vegetables and prepared foods, to form Peak Foods, L.L.C. Peak foods has purchased a 78,000 square food processing facility in Troy, Ohio and is installing new equipment in the plant to produce frozen whipped topping.

In addition to continuing to support the development of new markets for their products, IFPC continues to look for new opportunities in specialized areas of processing within the food business.
